I have a brand new pair of Weaver Grand Slam bases that do not match the Weaver Grand Slam rings. The bases are for my Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in 460. The bases are not what I would call the normal slotted Weaver type and are marked Grand Slam Weaver Dovetail Steel #48976 (two piece). The rings are marked Weaver Grand Slam Steel Detachable #49802. I assume that these bases came in two types- "regular Weaver style" and dovetail style. In any event the rings will not fir the bases. Any advice would be appreciated, anyone who wants to swap the steel Grand Slam dovetail bases for a set of regular Grand Slam bases for the Weatherby?? Thanks.
