Weaver Grand Slam rings - Silly question

Weaver Grand Slam, dovetail mount rings - Do the screws that tighten the top of the ring around the scope take a hex key, or are they slotted head.

I know an older gentleman looking for steel rings for his rifle, but they must use hex bolts. These rings are the closest I can find to what he wants but I'm not sure about the screws.

The appropriate tool is included with the rings IIRC.

yes they are . not slotted. gs rings work good. i'm using a set of quick release gs an a lightweight 338. there holding good.
