Weaver N3 scope mount in 1" - do they exist?

Here’s the deal - I have a Winchester Model 74 semi .22 with a Weaver B4 ½” tube scope on an N3 mount. The scope itself is getting a bit long in the tooth (as am I) and just isn’t enough scope to do the rifle justice or allow my wonky eyes to come close to living up to what the rifle is capable of.

I’d like to mount a 1” scope (probably a period-correct Weaver K4 I have laying around) using the four existing screw holes made by the N3 mount. Weaver builds an arrangement that appears to do exactly that, but I’m not sure of the distance between the screws, and I don’t want to spend the money unless I’m completely sure.

The other concern is aesthetics – the mount Weaver offers is aluminum. The rest of the rifle (and scope) are either steel or walnut. Seems a shame to break up the theme. Does anyone offer a scope mount that does what the Weaver mount does, but is built from steel like God and J.M. Browning intended?

Weaver side base in #2 and then the usual Weaver side mt rings.The N3 mt came in 3/4",7/8" and 1 " stamped steel...........rather crude........Harold

I kinda like the crude aspect of it. It looks like it was made in a prison metal shop while the guards weren't looking, but it's reasonably strong and the old ones get a nice brownish patina that would match my rifle.

I've never seen a 1" version - any idea where would I get one?

Not sure if the ones Savage put on their BA 340 is the same hole pattern.Savage 340 takes a #1 base plate.Both the the Cooey 60/600 BA .22's and the Win74 take the Weaver #2 base.They are one inch for sure...... You may be able to get a Savage 340 1" one piece mt and alter it to your hole pattern.............Harold.......check the scrap parts boxes at gun shows is what I'd do

1/2" tube? And I thought my 3/4" tube was small.
I have a 3/4" weaver mount and a newer 1" #2, and the #2 doesn't sit directly over the barrel like the 3/4" one does. And interferes with the bolt handle because of it.
Just a word of warning of what could happen when dealing with older guns.
