Weaver or Leupold set-ups

I have a question for all you out there,

I want a quick detachable scope mounting system for one of my rifles, this rifle will most likely have some sufficient recoil happening.

I would like to go with Leupold's QR system and also their QWR system but was looking at Weavers good old simple bases and regular rings (mainly because of the $$$$$).
Now I remember having a Remmington 742 in 30.06 with this setup, and when I took the scope off for cleaning purposes, and then re-attached it, I was always back on zero, which gave me confidence in the system after that, but I cant remember if these sort of rings did any damage to the scope tube as they don't look perfectly round on the inside like the Leupold's do.

The other reason I am looking at this type of set-up is to be able to switch scopes in a rather timely manner for what ever reasons I have (many).

I was wondering about the levers on the Leupolds, would/can they possibly get caught on something (clothes/bush) and open up and allow the scope to get off zero without me noticing before a shot is taking if I needed to take a quick shot on a fleet sheep or W.H.Y.

Please any comments and or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for you input.

I have used both types as well as a few others.

Nothing wrong with Weavers and Leupold do look nicer. Aside from external ring marks which both will leave behind I doubt either will do any damage to the scope.

I had a pair of Leuppy quick detach rings and sold them in quick order. The handles hang up on stuff and actually can cut you hand if you don't have them pointing in the right direction. They also don't get the rings as tight as I like and they don't return to an exact POI. Close but that doesn't work for me. The other rings that need a torque wrench also don't work for me as I hate having to depend on tools I am likely to forget when I am in the bush.

My choice is the Burris Sig rings w/inserts. They return to zero but need a screwdriver to take them off. Personally, I don't like having a lot of stuff dangling off my rifle as I am quite a klutz in the bush.

The basic weaver bases have been working in Africa for well over 50yrs. Heavy recoil or not, they work.

Thanks to those that have replied thus far, I know my Leupold scopes and my rifles, but when it comes to the mounts and rings, I'm not all that sure.
I think the order will be the Burris Signature Zee rings, and either Weaver(aluminum) bases or Leupolds QRW bases (steel).

Any other comments or experiences?

I have Leupold Scopes in QR's on all my rifles... like the ability to switch scopes around. Never found them "to hang-up" on anything, and they have caused me no trouble whatsoever.
