Weaver ring med/tall height difference?

Mounting a scope on a rifle with weaver bases. Picked up a set of med. height weaver rings and they're just too low. The scope touches the barrel, just. While 1/16" taller may do it, I'd be quite comfortable shooting if it were as much as 1/4" or even 3/8" taller.

Any idea how much height difference there is between medium height and tall rings, or extra tall? Just wondering which to order.

depends on who makes 'em and if they even bother telling you the dimensions. low / med / high are horribly ambiguous and they're a personal pet peeve. grab a ruler, measure what you got and what you want, and buy based on the numbers. and if the company won't or can't tell you the numbers, buy from someone who can.

Most mount manufacturers have ring heights published on their websites. Ring height is definitely non-standard and depends on brand of rings.
