Hey folks, I was just looking for a bit of insight. I recently acquired a Mossberg 4x4, and it has Weaver bases on it. Now I'm wondering if I should use the Weaver rings or go with the less expensive Millet rings? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!:D

I don't believe my local gun store carries those. How do they compare price wise to Weavers? Also I'm not a target shooter, so do I really need top notch rings? I'm thinking not, I don't exactly hunt in what one would consider rugged terrain.

The Zee rings run $5 to $10 more than the standard Weaver rings, but the advantage is that they have one screw on either side which makes it easy to line up your scope. With the Weaver rings that have two screws on one side and none on the other, the scope often rotates as you tighten the screws, making it difficult to get your cross hairs perfectly aligned. If you must use Weaver, the Grand Slam ring is a good option, because it also has one screw per side and is easy to align scopes with. I won't use the Millet Angle locks under any circumstances. Many people actually refer to them as Mangle Locks.

Get the Signature Zee rings, no need to lap and they protect the scope from marring. You can also shim with the inserts if you need too. The inserts also compress some and hold the scope better then most rings.

Cheers!!

Stay away from those crappy fugly Millets.
The Zee rings are great for the kerch$ing and no squashing your scope tube
as the Weaver two screws like to do.
Plus they are easy, simple and look great on a rifle.
