Thanks for sharing. I sometimes regret that I don't have mine anymore but I wasn't going to shoot it much and I know it went to someone else who deserves a turn.

I once had another MK Vl, very similar, but I also had at least two 44 magnums and a 357 at the same time, so I sold the Webley. Now, I appreciate the Webley more and its history.
I did reload for the Webley when I had the other one, and yes, I am going to reload for this one. I can't find any notes from before, but I will use a fast powder and the chronograph, to keep the loads low.
If anyone is reloading for the .455 Webley I would appreciate seeing what your load is.

255gr flat-base SWC (LYMAN #452424) sized 0.450" with 3.2gr Trail Boss / 230gr Lee 6-cavity 230gr TC with 3.5gr Trail Boss. It also likes the 255gr Lee RF with 3.2gr Trail Boss.

Yeah, a lot of Trail Boss :redface: - it's made expressly for part-power loads with lead bullets, there's no WAY I could fit a double charge in a Mk. II case, and it's one of the few powders I could actually get. My standard .45 load is now the 230gr Lee TC with 3.5gr of it, I put a bit more powder in for the lighter bullet to give a bit more oomph and hopefully a bit cleaner burning; Trail Boss is pretty messy to clean-up after. It also doesn't meter very well, so this Fall I'm moving on to trying other powders - VV N320, Unique and WST - looking for cleaner burn.

In the meantime these loads are reasonably mild, giving ~635 fps. I load them for both .45 ACP and .455 Webley, because I have a spare shaved cylinder and I can shoot PP at the local club with the Webley using .45 ACP and moon clips - I really don't want to load anything gamier in .45 ACP that might find its way into the Webley and blow it up, and both our .45 autos will cycle this load and shoot it accurately, so why change it - the 230gr also uses a smidge less lead than the 255's, I only get 28 bullets per pound of lead with them.

Always eager for more .45 loads, in particular a mild, accurate 200gr SWC load. Anyone?
