Webley and Scott revolvers from India

Definitely interested in one in .38 special.

I like Webleys...but top break revolvers, by definition, over the long term, might not like the higher pressures of modern loads.
Remember, they were originally BP revolvers. Upgraded later yes but why go top break when one can have a solid frame that is happier with higher pressures?

That's a nice example of the type, but I don't want one enough to pay that much.

Yes $600. + + is not going to sell well . The original 12(6) ones are very much cheaper if you have that class ?
I have the original 12(6) one in mint shape & stamped OPP , but I don't think I could get 1/2 ( $300.) of that one ?

I would describe myself as potentially interested in one in .38 Special, but I predict there won't be enough demand to make them decide to produce it. (That's a prediction I'd be glad to see proved wrong.)
Sadly , this is true , but still.....

To be honest, I'm thinking more along the lines of a Webley/Enfield made for smokeless powder , just something very appealing about cracking it open and having all the empty case fly out .lol
I'd get a scholfield in .38spl, if I could afford one , but the Appeal of a British service revolver in a round that's easier to obtain, big strong point .

38 special is not a civilian cartridge in India .. only police forces can have it .. .32 is civilian cartridge .. smaller than 9mm ... so most likely the mass production will be .32 in India ..

Yes, perhaps they'd be allowed to make them in .38Special for export only, but that's where I think the demand won't be sufficient.

I rode the train in Pakistan and met a Pakistani Air Force Officer who was packing a revolver complete with holster and loaded bandolier.

He said he carried it, " in case someone had an aggression against him ".

I don't know what it was, but I saw a gun with what looked like a hard chromed top break. Couldn't quite make it out, but I'd image it was a cerakoted Webley.
