Question for you airgun gurs's.

I picked up this beat up Webley Hurricane a few years back in an estate sale. It's pretty beat up, but I figure it may be worthwhile fixing it up to plink with. It probably works as is, but it'll be a fun little project.

As far as what I can see, it's only cosmetic damage, light scratches, light powdery rust on some of the metal parts.

I figure a light buff and a black paint on the metal will be good enough?

The trigger guard is cracked, is this a worthwhile replacement? Anyone have any sources for such a piece?

The grips are right hand grips, is there anyone that make ambi or lefty grips? I may just make my own... they don't seem all that intricate at all.

Anything else I should check while I have it all apart? Anything I should avoid taking apart?

Thanks all for the help.

Here are some pics..

Try J+G airguns in the States or in the UK Chamber's Gun spares...........parts are available most likely.............Harold

Wood grips are out there as well made by Beeman called "combat" they don't have the thumb shelf so are good for lefties.

They may be discontinued.

The Beeman combat style grips may still be available from D&L Airguns, in BC:

They did have them in stock, but it has been at least a year since I last ordered a set. You will have to e-mail them and request the grips, as they didn't put them up on their new website when they changed it over.

The plastic nose pieces and the trigger guard were at one time stocked by LeBarons, but don't know if they still do. North Silva, in Toronto also had some such parts available as well,, but again, no idea if they still do.

The best source would probably be Chambers, in the UK. They are excellent to deal with.
