Hello Pistol/Revolver nutz...

I have some questions, regarding the aforementioned revolver / pistol.

It seems my grandfather has had these two guys locked away in a chest since WW2. I just discovered them and have taken control of them as I am the only person in the family with PAL / RPAL. I plan to notify the CFC immediately and register these. However I would like to clarify a few things before I give the CFC a phone call.

Questions pertain to: Webley Mark Vi .455 and FN1910 .38ACP

Firstly, are either of these prohibited? I checked the CFC list of prohibited arms and did not see either of them on there *phew*. If one or both of them turn out to be I would rather get them professionally deactivated and keep them for sentimental reasons.

The FN1910 seems to be in 'poor to good' condition. I think it was taken from a German Officer as the gun has the "Nazi Eagle" with Swastika stamped on the slide(twice) and the grip(once). Is this gun rare and should I make a good effort to restore it? One side of the grip has fallen off... anyone know a gunsmith familiar with these?

The Webley Mark VI is in 'good to very good' condition. Other then the barrel looking a bit dirty everything else seems to be in good working order. I believe this was my Grandfathers service revolver. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy commanding a flotilla of Motor Torpedo Boats in/around the english channel during the war. Again, is this a rare gun? Should I be putting rounds through it at the range or put it away as a collector piece?

I appreciate any feedback... and in return... some pictures:

NOTE: The 3rd leather pouch was filled with SEVERELY corroded rounds, most likely from WW2 as well!! I kept the best looking one and responsibly disposed of the rest.

Fortunately, it is not a Browning 1910. It is a 1922. Also fortunate that it is in .380 (not .38ACP) and not .32. Prohib. status is thereby avoided. Not unusual for these to have German marks. Should clean up, you should be able to find replacement grips. The 1917 Mk. VI looks like a good solid specimen.
Anyway, if these are not registered, it should be possible to get them into the system.

My memory could have failed me here, but I believe the 1922 is in fact prohibited, and if it had not been in the "system" prior to 1998 (?) it must be deactivated or destroyed. Prohibs cannot be brought into the Registry under any circumstances. A restricted should be fine, but can be a lengthy process. Value of a 1922 can vary, I sold one 2 years ago with holster in VG condition, German marked, for $275. Hope this helps. Please keep these, whether you have to deactivate them or register, priceless family history! Thanks for showing.

FN Browning, 1922 P641b 8 shots, 114mm bbl, FRT# 36333-1 if marked .380, 36333-2 if 9mm Browning Short. Restricted. A 1922 would be prohib. if in .32ACP/7.65 Browning.
Webley Mk. VI, 6 shot, 152mm bbl, FRT# 23399-1 in .455. Restricted.

Thanks for the great feedback.

Worst case I will deactivate the FN. There are no marks on the pistol stating .32 or .38. I am assuming it is .38 because of some of the old rounds I found with it. I will hope for the latter and attempt to the register these.
