I have recently acquired a WEBLEY MK. VI and would like to know the value:

WW 1 Webley British Mark 6. It is in .455 (1916)
Finish worn and it has a little play in the cylinder.
Has excellent grips

Any help on this is appreciated.

there's no real finish left, but it looks sound and the bore is good. 450- 500. wouldn't go less. Look to see if it has broad arrow or C broad arrow stamping. that would add to the desirability.

$400 to $600 depending on who is shopping and how long you can wait. I had a 1919 vintage example that I sold for something in the upper half of that price range with a replica holster and lanyard, some brass, and a die set. Not a serious collector, I bought it to own and to shoot and the fellow who bought it from me seemed to have the same reason. It had those ancilllaries and better finish than yours, but yours has less apparent wear on the rifling and the WWI manufacture date might make it more appealing to some buyers.

This revolver is covered in the appropriate military proof/acceptance markings of the British government ownership marks (Broad-Arrows) there were at least eight (8), although I could have easily missed some...my eyes are not as good as they were a few years ago...LOL...
The service weapon of J R R Tolkien, who served on the Somme before contracting trench fever in October 1916....not this one, of coyrse, but the same Model.

A Note of Thanks to all replies on this Thread, and any additional comments are welcome...:)

Very fine weapon.
My tastes in handguns tend to lean toward Victorian up to ( and through ) WWI era
Rifle / Carbine and pistol combo's are always cool. I've a Krag 'n Colt combo, a Chilean Steyr-hahn and Chilean Mauser, Luger and K98 ( gotta squint a tad on them; the Luger is WW2).
But my 455's don't have WW1 provence, sadly. The MK VI my favorite of Webleys, I'm not so fond of the earlier MK's.
Have you shot it yet?
I've a 455 Webley in a S & W 2nd model & a Colt New Service in 455 Eley. With a basically factory loading ( 255 grain pure lead bullet at 680 fps) they light up pretty good in the hand.
But IIRC the Webley's need a hollow base bullet, is this correct? The bbl has a larger diameter than the cylinder, sound right?
I've a few bags of freshly cast Webley HB 265 grain'rs, they were expensive! 100 $ for 200 IIRC
You can fab up ad-hoc shells pretty easily too.
If you need help, shoot me a line.
