I'm looking at reloading some MKII Webley Ammo using Pyrodex and a 265gr hollow base. I've seen some people make reference to using 18 gr of black powder, but that was for a MKI cartridge. I'm using the shorter MKII brass.
I've also see reference to making sure the load is lightly compressed. I'm looking for people's techniques for achieving this. Do you do it by feel, or by calculating a specific OAL?

If you're using Pyrodex and the LHBRN, you might as well use Mk. I cartridges. Realizing you probably don't have any Mk. I's (I have ~30 and they've never left the baggie), you could get Mk. I's by rounding-up some .45 LC's and cutting them down; you'll have to thin the rims and they'll need a .45LC shellholder.

I cannot advise you on the use of Pyrodex or black powder; I've never used them.
