Lets see if I can get this to work

Photo should say it all :D

Oh and in the first week of hunting I saw 20 moose in that area, all cows and calves, this little one came from a cow with 2 calves. Moose are all on the draw in this zone.

Deer not so good only saw that one big guy hanging there :D and 5 other does / fawns but they were too quick for me to get a shot at. Whitetails you get your regular tag plus the 2 suplementals for antlerless :D

That's what I figured. Hopefully my dad will be able to keep hunting for as long as yours.

On another subject....what is that dune buggy ? Did you carjack somebody on Madmax :)

Pops built that 2 years ago, thats the second one the first one is over 25 years old, we just call it a bushbuggy

Its made with the drive train from a Hundi Pony, 2 pony rear ends (one flipped upsidedown) and it articulates in the middle to steer like a loader. Hydraulic steering from an old combine. Tires are the same sort as you would find on a ditchwitching machine.

The first one he built used the drive train out of an old datsun B210.

There is a homebuilt gearbox that reduces the transmission output by 5:1 or (4:1 on the first one) and also functions as the transfercase. Full time 4 wheel drive.

Dang! I hope I can still hunt at 84!

I tell my kids the reason I take them hunting and fishing is so they know how and can take me when I'm too old to go by myself :D

Congrats on the critters.

lol......thats what i call my blaser..bushbuggy

think you talk Pops in into building me one of his design,in his spare time?

If I make it to 84, I want to look like your father, i.e. standing out in the woods with a rifle and the game I just shot.

Your dad sure can mod the hell out of a datsun! haha. Any build plans for something like that?

no real plan, just get the axles and drive train sorted out and build a frame for it out of 2"x3" boxed tubing. Steering rams were sort of trial and error, I guess I could to some math to figure the tangents and lenght or arc but we managed to do it by trial and error.

after hunting if there is enough interest I'll dig around and see what I have for build photos, I'll take some more of the final product. Plan is all in my dad's head. :D

Sounds like your pop is a handy fellow! Congrats on the successful hunt and the comradery with your dad...
