Son of a bugger!

Bought my dad a 500 Smith and Wesson for his birthday.

I told him it would take a minimum 6 to at least 8 weeks for transfer.....................

He gets it in a week and a half.

I'm going on 5 weeks for a transfer. My one before that was 8 weeks when I called and rattled a chain.

Now he thinks he's special.

And now I KNOW that someone, somewhere doesn't like me.

Yee gads!

I bought an Anaconda last thursday ! I received my paper this morning, shall get it for this week-end. My normal waiting period is between 5 to 7 open days. But, when I got my AR it tooks 2 and a half months...go figure!!

BTW, I should let my kids read your post, can give them some ideas !!!!

Dad turns 65 in 2 weeks. Kinda figured a big birthday like that should warrant something big.

I haven't bought or sold a restricted in awhile ( and I don't have any right now) but here on little old PEI, 4 hours wassn't unheard of. 1 business day was the norm.

Bunch of years ago here in Ontario, you could get a short term ATT within an hour or so. Dad drove to London (ON) and bought one and drove home with it.

In Alberta when I was there, I had done the same.

I bought a 1911 on the 9th, and it's shipping today. 2 weeks isn't too shabby. On the other hand, I had a non-restricted go to the CFO last week for 3 days. Those usually go through immediately when purchasing from a retailer. It's a crap shoot. I've never purchased a restricted and had it take over two weeks.

I lived in Pembrooke for a while, it is there that I bought my first handgun , OPP officers were more then glad to help me with paperwork, I had to wait for half an hour, and I had a S&W 586, registered to me, as a gun collectors, since at the moment of the purchase, I was not a member at the shoothing club.

A few month later, I bought a S&W 645, the same officers help me out, at the difference that they ask me to come back at the station to show them the new Smith .45. I will never see something like that again in my life...

Max, I will turn 50 next year, that can warrant a little rimfire ;)

Guys. In Onterrible, dealers are under 1/2 the wait compared to transfers between individuals.
1-3 weeks for dealers, 4-8 weeks for slebs.

100% correct I bought a restricted on the EE and it took 19 WORKING DAYS during that waiting period I bought another restricted from an out of province dealer, and it was complete in 4 working days. Plus i didn't have to pay PST, did have to pay shipping though, but no gas to the store! Out of province dealer is the way to go if you live in Ontario
