We get together only once each year - always for the second weekend in September. Stay at the range and have a blast (pun intended) all weekend.
Shoot cannons - about 10 events, mortars, and mini-cannons.
Members are from different areas, so different range each year.
I only been involved for 6 years, but some of the boys been shooting these since the 70's. Unique group of individuals, to say the least.
Guns are all homemade, bore size to be over 1.5 inch (One guy shoots 2.5!!) and shoot cast lead rounds in events from 50 to 200 yards. Accuracy can be surprizingly good. (or sometimes surprizingly bad!)
Mortars range from cement-filled beercans to cast lead rounds, even stacked hockey-puck rounds.

Anybody seriously interested in the mechanics of these can PM me. I built mine and have tons of pics and details of many others. There ain't no two the same!!
