Maybe this should be in gunsmithing, but I think it should be here, so here we go.
On friday, I realized that my "other" project has to go on hold until I get some parts in. Patience is a virtue, so while I'm waiting, I decided to find something else to build.
I could have setup the press and hammered out a couple thousand 5.56, which I need to do, but I felt like doing something different.
Firstoff, I picked up a piece of hardware I bought several years ago, but sold a part of last year, so it's been on the shelf for a while now, unused.
So, I decided to make it useable again.
I went to the shop, and had a peek in a corner, found a length of 1" square steel, and started work.
Here's a couple of progress pics from the weekend....I took the time to fix a retaining latch this evening. That's been broken since I got this piece! Woohoo! Now it actually works like it's supposed to!
Anyhow, no further ado, but watch for more updates. I ran out of the right kind of steel tonight, so I couldn't start the next phase of it.
NS
Beginning the first cut:
An hour or so later, the bottom is done....
Hrm, 45 degree clamping and milling is fun!
Hrm, what could this be????
