Has anybody added weight to a Tikka T3? I've read about adding lead shot, etc. The butstock is hollow and would take a lot of shot, but how do I keep it from becoming a big baby rattle? Anybody have some ideas? Epoxy? Fiberglass?

initially id start with something less permanent than filling the stock with lead/epoxy.
if later on you realise that the balance of the rifle is all f'd up and its too heavy, you might want to undo it - and thats not an option if you use epoxy. maybe its just me but if ill always take the completely reversible solution over the permanent, irreversible one.

sew up a beanbag full of lead shot, drop it in the stock hollow, squish it in, and then cut a slightly oversize plug of high density styrofoam insulation and jam it in behind it, screw in the buttplate, it wont move.

ive done this to my friend's Stevens and it hasnt budged in 2 years now, but if he ever changes his mind or wants to sell the gun or something he can remove it in seconds.

Pour in hot melted lead, that way the stock will melt as well and you can go out and get a wood stock for it,the way it should have come in first place.

I have a savage with the same issue. went to wallyworld and bought 2 coils of lead rope in the fishing dept. for 3.00 each and wrapped them in recycle plastic supermarket bags. stuffed them in the stock and now have no rattle and a balance on 2 fingers. cheap and efficient. just play with how much lead you need.
