In FC brass seeing up to 5.5gr (197.7-203.2)difference in a group of 20. The Win brass was 185gr. Yes, differences were repeated, scale not drifting. Just curiosity at this point, hunting rifle groups seemed to have more Vert than previously with another batch of brass.

I don't like to go by theories, I would much rather prove the point.
Thus I once picked out five 243 brass that were very even in weight and five more of a different make that were even in weight, but 20 grains heavier than the first five.
I shot each group over the chronograph and the velocity of each group was within the built in tolerance level of the chronograph.
In other words, no difference in velocity with brass weighing 20 grains of difference.
So my answer to your question would be that 5.5 grains of weight difference in your brass would make absolutely no difference to the performance of your hunting rifle.

Well, sounds like you saved me the trouble. 20 grain difference in 243 is a lot bigger that what I've got. I'll start another thread on the uniformity of "premium" brass for the precision crowd, curious.
