Hi all,

When I was into airguns, I had several Weihrauch springers. Fantastic quality.
Now I know that they make .22lr target rifles also, namely the HW66.
Anybody got one? Any idea where to get them in Canada ?
I already emailed D and L airguns to see if they could import one and am waiting for an answer.

Thanks

Gilbert

I have also had Weihrauch air rifles and pistols and agree about their superb quality. The small bore rifles made by Weihrauch should be awesome.
Congratulations, Gilbert. I think you're going to really like your HW 60M in .22LR.

Yes Glenn,

We both shared that interest for Weihrauch air rifles some years ago. I always kept some very good vibes for the brand and now that I have been into quality rimfires for some years ( mainly Anschutz ), I am kind of drawn back to Weihrauch. If their rimfires are at par with their air rifles, it is a very promising adventure.

I have a couple of Venom tuned HW's back from the 1980's. Both are quality rifles, and I had a modern Weihrauch from 2015 in my hand last year. No drop in quality over the years, in fact I think with more modern machining they have slightly improved.

I really like the HW66 Jagd - match. One of those in .17Mach 2 would be quite rifle. Who sells these in Canada?

Candocad.

First post here so I hope it works!
I have a couple - A HW66JM & HW60J both in 22LR.
Well designed and built - metal finish and blueing about as good as it gets on factory guns.
The Running Boar is arguably the most accurate unmodified production rim fire I've owned. The sporter needed a few "tweaks" to meet my requirements.
These actions are the equal of the Anschutz 54 IMO and I've owned my share of those to compare.

Allan, welcome to the forum. I see that this is your first post on CGN and am wondering whether you might be the Allan Harris from down under that posts frequently and informatively on the RFC forum.:)

Yes, that's me - The fellow who does all those crazy builds on Savages, Cooper, Lithgow etc!!

I'm working on a Walther from 1979 at the moment - When it's back together, I'll be looking for some info. from you fellows who own them as I'd never seen one previously - Very impressed with this one so far.

But back to Weihrauch - Both single stage & two stage triggers are nice but care is required when adjusting them - Sear engagement is critical. Took me a while to figure out the Running Boar trigger as there is no mention of a sear adjustment screw in the manual and they have it well hidden in the single stage. Once I had the trigger set up correctly, it was a different rifle. Only issue I see with these is that the cocking effort is substantial - No problem if using them as designed but difficult to keep stable in a rest. These actions are very strong and will cope with the 22H & 222R.

I bought the HW60J on line from a gun shop. It was a 2016 build and presented as new but it was cheap so I expected issues with it - Bedding and rifling problems soon became obvious but were soon sorted.

Plenty of relevant info in this RFC link:

I just bought the HW60m that was on sale at Tradex. I received it and it is in pristine condition. For a used gun, it sure looks like it hasn't seen much action. I will post pics next week-end.

OK, this is getting intense. After buying the HW60m from Tradex, I have been contacted by a Gentleman on this good forum. He has a HW66 ( the varmint version) in like new condition. Only a few rounds trough it and He offered to sell it to me for a very reasonable price. I just could not pass this so I bought it. Now I am going to have 2 Weihrauch .22lr rifles...
Will post pics when I get them both.

Is the HW66 the Jagd-Match model?

Here is an interesting article: http://theoutdoorsguide.########.com/2015/04/weihrauch-hw-60-j-thumbhole-review-and.html [Article is about one chambered in 22wmr, but the same basics apply to 22lr chambering I assume.]

I have yet to own a Weihrauch 22lr rimfire, but they are on my list. Apparently I missed the one at Tradex....lol. Did a little searching and wondered if it was in a left handed stock?

cdill,

Yes the HW60m I bought from Tradex is sitting in a left hand stock. It has a right hand bolt though. It feels a bit funny but is plenty shootable. I might bring the stock to my gunsmith for slight modification. He does wonders with rifle stocks. And also, yes the HW66 is the Jagd-match modell.

Very interesting!

I recall now that I looked at that HW60m about a month ago on the Tradex site but decided against it because of the left hand stock.

If you find time to post pics of the rifles it would be appreciated, and also a range report when you have time to shoot them.

It's not like I need any more rimfires as there are ones now that have sat unfired in the safes for some time......I just have an addiction. ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Cdill,
I will post pics in a few days ( this coming week-end ). I have a rush at work and cannot before that.

Yodave,
D and L airguns import lots of air rifles directly from Weihrauch Germany. If you call them, I am quite sure they can bring in a rimfire. I know they told me recently that they have one coming in July but it was not the Jadg-match version but they can most probably ask for one in their next order.
