recently when a colleagued kicked , I was given several boxes of ammo.

In this cache were the following Norma Brass

"Super 7 X 61, and 9.3 X 74R

All of this stuff is minty, in the orignal boxes, never loaded or seen a reloading opress. Any ideas what they were for, and if there is any use for them.

The 9.3 look like a longer 303 case, the Super 7 has a belt around the head like the 300 wi mag.????

The 7x61 is the 7x61 Sharpe and Hart, a potent 7mm cartridge that fell by the wayside when the 7mm Remington Magnum was introduced. I do believe Remington chambered their model 721 in it for a very brief period.

The 9.3x74R is a much more common and popular caliber, with a large following even here in Canada to this day, it seems its popularity's climbing again due to its standard production reintroduction in the Ruger No.1 Medium Sporter, and Tropical. A few other makers are also chambering rifles destined for North America in it in increasing numbers, and it remains extremely popular worldwide, especially in Europe, as a large game cartridge.
