Weird notification from CGN Admin in my in-box

Hello Everyone

I'm not really sure where to post this....I'm really only active on the milsurp thread and I know a lot of you, so I figured here's as good as any.

I got a weird notification in my in-box today from CGN Admin -

" Hi,

We are reviewing the rating left by your account to the user "###X". The member only had 1 ad ever at CGN.

If you fail to provide a satisfactory response within 2 business days, we will turn off your EE access and remove your trader ratings associated with this user.

Thank you
Admin"

This transaction happened in May. I've made several purchases on the EE, all of them positive, no problems at all. I left "###X" positive feedback - quote " A-OK, Fast Shipping, Honest Description". He was happy, I was happy and that was that. I replied to today's notification asking what gives as well as sent the CGN admin an E-mail, but have heard nothing back as of yet. Can anyone explain to me what is going on??

They're trying to phase out accounts that are being padded with fake feedback.

Do you remember what you bought/sold to them, did you incorrectly indicate yourself as the buyer/seller. Explain to them what you know about the transaction, they're just trying to keep the EE rating system honest.
 
The guy's 'name' was jkm90, and according to his profile only had 1 post and a feedback score of 3 at 100%. I bought a rifle off of him, received it A-OK and left positive feedback for him, just like I've done for others. He left me positive feedback as well as a note saying "thanks for the warm welcome to the community". Why would the CGN Admin. threaten to cut off MY EE access? What did I do wrong?
 
My guess would be someone may have reported him for possible fraud?
Who knows, just do as they ask. They can turn it on as fast as off I assume so no big deal.
Its good to hear they are monitoring so closely, as this year has seen a couple fellas getting scammed.

He had an ad? Or he contacted you on a WTB ad you had? Seems like you both have normal accounts from what I see.

They'll cut you off on the basis that you faked feedback, unless you prove otherwise. Any edits or removed threads in the EE can be seen by the moderators, meaning they know if you're not being honest.

I'm glad they do this, sometimes the innocent get caught up in it, unfortunate but happens.

Hello from S'toon Kratos!

Thanks for the note. Yes, he had an add on advertising a vintage Winchester 30-30 for sale in the Hunting and Sporting Rifle section of the EE back at the end of April. I responded to his add on 04-28-2017. As far as I can tell, aside from him only having a single post, everything was on the up and up. At the end of the day, I sent him a pic of my PAL, I sent him money, he sent me the 30-30. I left positive feedback for him, he did the same for me, done. Same as any other transaction I've done on the EE. I don't get it....

Hopefully things get sorted out for you, if you were putting up fake feedback I'm sure you wouldn't make a thread about it.

They might ask for emails or proof of payment. I've never heard of an actual EE investigation, just knew they were taken more seriously the last couple years, that and fraud.
 
OK I'll take one for the team, check my feedback " left for others", I've left exactly one Neutral and that was after letting the Mods know we might have problem. Fake positive feedback is obvious.
 
OK, now this is getting weird. I got an E-mail response from the CGN Admin Help desk -

" Hello

Help desk does not handle trader rating related issues. Please respond to the message directly to the sender you have received it from."

I did that, and have not received a response as of this post. I'm really confused.... I get a notification from CGN Admin to get in touch with them. I respond, explain the transaction and ask what is happening. I search the site looking for help and find the CGN Help Desk e-mail. I write an e-mail, copy and paste the message from the CGN Admin and send it off. Now I get an E-mail from the CGN Admin. in response to a note from the CGN Admin. telling me they do not handle trading related issues and asking me to respond directly to the sender I received it from (as I did) which is the.....CGN Admin.

What is going on here? I've been a member of CGN since Nov. 2015, have 246 posts, contribute positively to the discussions and have 6 transactions with 100% positive feedback. Has this happened to anybody else??
 
God help me if they ever ask me that question. I can barely remember what I shipped to Kratos last month, let alone anything else.

And yeah I hear that, I don't know who I sold what to. But maybe they can read all of our deleted PMs too, since they can see all the edited and deleted EE posts.
