weird question

Welcome to CGN!

You will need a tool called "bullet puller"
Looks like this:

You can also use pliers/vice grips to hold both case and the bullet while pulling the bullet out, but it will dammage both the case and the bullet, and you wont be able to reuse them.

a bullet puller hammer type this is the best if you want to reuse the bullets/case if you just want a bullet as a souvineer or somehting slip an empty shell case (same cartridge) over the bullet and bend it to the side it will bend th e brass and the bullet will fall out....with minimal damage....:)

I have the kinetic bullet puller as well, but I also have these that are much easier to use and less pain.

It's called the Hornady Cam Lock Bullet Puller. You'll also need the correct size for collet for your ammo. ie, for pulling 40S&W/10mm, use collet #11 .410

No more banging on hard surfaces.

Check out www.hornady.com, under "Metallic Reloading", select "Tools", select "Pullers".

WSS and Russel Sports sell some Hornady stuff but I don't see these on the website or printed catalogue.

I see that Russel Sports has the Forster Bullet Puller (collet type). Same idea as Hornady's for $17.99, based on the 2009 printer catalogue on page 146, left most column, middle section.

The kinetic puller is great if you have less than 10 to do, but after that, if you're not consistent with your strikes, it gets painful.

Just something for you to consider.

If its a priority and you have a reloading press, remove a die, place the round in the shell plate and raise to full stroke. The bullet should be above the hole. take a pair of pliers and firmly grasp the bullet. Lower the stroke while letting the pliers rest in the press and it should pull the bullet out of the case. This will definitely kill the bullet and maybe the case if it is worn, but is has a better chance of saving the case then using two pliers. A bullet puller is defiantly the better choice.

You can also buy a collet puller that fits your press. You need a different collet for each caliber (6mm, 7mm, .30 etc) that interchange in the unit. I have an old Herter's puller that makes pulling bullets easy

The hammer style pullers didn't work for me.

I use a puller from RCBS. It uses the leverage of the press itself, in reverse. A little slow but always worked for me. Could never figure out where the powder went when you used a kinetic puller. Should look up that Hornady one, though.
