weird thought

Let me put it this way... fox is inedible, and it is less of a carrion animal than coyotes are:

Although I really like all of his videos, the one problem I have with this one is that he starts eating the fox by boiling the head and eating that first. I've never eaten brains (not a zombie), but I can't imagine that its one of the finest tasting parts of any animal (and yes, I know its a delicacy in some regions/cultures).

Are you kidding? Did you read all his posts on this thread? The only way I could take him seriously is if he really does eat his own leg...maybe not even then...

since i've never noticed his posts or had a beef with him, i was being nice :p

Wonder how much cash it would take to get a cgn'er to eat a yote steak and record himself doing it.

will i be allowed to use any spices, sauces, or marinades? ;)

i would eat the face off of micheal jackon if i was hungry enough in the woods. eating a dog- no problem

My Bro 's ....... You nailed it !

We were made to eat BATs in our turn when we were prepairing for Perserving the Peace , and believe me they taste real good , just fire burn to crisp . Cut the wings and stuff , any time

Too funny. From PEI and won't eat a lobster. ;) More for me then. It is the poop that makes them taste so good. :DBelieve me my friend I worked in a meat processing facility for two years and had to get out for reasons I will not get into. If we could see what the meat in our grocery stores is going through to hit the table a lobster is a good thing. Take care and send those lobster this way .:)
Will you eat those big dirty honker birds that take over your island every year and cost me about $250.00 each to take home from Lot16 ???

I'm not originally from the island. Never had much experience with the stuff when i was younger, so never acquired a taste for it. I'll eat a lobster roll now and then, but that probably doesn't count. I tried FRESH mussels recently and was pleasantly surprised. And yes, I'd probably eat a goose (I thought you migh mean crows for a second there!). I just need a proper gun (or a 26" mossberg 500 barrel with screw chokes) and somehow gain access to some land :)

I turned this coyote into dog food for my hounds and bait for other coyotes but hell I mite try eating the tenderlions of the next one. Can't be any worse then my cooking and with enough redneck spice (ketchup) I mite be able to get ovrr the fact its a dog. If I do ill let ya all know how it is

Cool. Lobster roll counts. Have always loved PEI mussels also, however in the last year I have been getting them weekly from a guy that comes over from newfoundland with fresh fish.Have to say they are the best I have ever eaten.
The ones grown on the rock have a totally differnt taste and are much fuller.

Please don't rag on those of us that don't actually like bear meat. I live in the NWT, and the meat of black bears is NOT required to be taken. Just the hide. Thats the part that the tag gets affixed to. The first black bear I shot, I thought I would try the meat. I couldn't suffer it down. I tried slow cooking it in a stew. I did BBQ steaks (marinated) , I did a stir fry, and some sausages. The only thing that didn't make me feel like I was eating from a used geriatric diaper, was the sausages. (and they were the hot/superhot variety. ) I couldn't give the rest of the meat away. I have , in the years since, (8) never bothered, as I have met a total of 3 people that say they don't mind bear meat. BUT, they wouldn't take any of mine, because they said they only trust bear meat that they personally shot and prepared.
That leaves me with a dilemma each time I go bear hunting. I hate the taste of black bear meat, no one I know wants any of it if I get one, so some of you guys expect me to fill up my freezer with meat that is sure to freezer burn?
I feel bad for the guys who live in zones that require the whole bear to be used. Must be an awful pain in the azz to pretend they like the meat, go through the trouble of cutting it up, packing it out, butchering, and wrapping, (and then disposing of it in the municipal trash,) just so the wildlife officers don't hassle them with the possession of a trophy rug.

From what I understand, the bear has to be processed properly, and immediately.
A buddy went on a bear hunt, guided, the guide took care of the processing part.
He dropped 2 steaks off at my home for the wife and I. Half way through the meal my wife blurted out "your going bear hunting!", it was one of the best game meats we have tried, a close second to elk.
I have pretty decent taste in food, so I wonder what the difference is between what we ate and what you ate?

The thing with wild animals is that they are individuals. You can be sure that most game of the same species will taste different from others because of this preference.

Deboned, and ALL the fat removed.Do it properly, and chances are it will be the first game meat eaten from your freezer.

My wife is a very picky person who won't eat moose, deer, or caribou, but loves bear.

I did back loins in Nov when I had a few friends over, and one of my guests said it was some of the best lamb he ever ate. ;)
Bear is the least gamey meat you will ever eat.

It is certainly not my place to judge anyone on their personal choices.

I do know the variance in bear meat is significant - and according to what they have consumed the meat can be from inedible to delicious.

With wild boar this is certainly very true. If they have been eating lentils or even the poorest quality grain, its the best and leanest pork you have ever eaten. But if they are foraging off anything they can eat, cardboard tastes better than they do.

Bear varies greatly, from excellent all the way to make you gag. One of my buddies used to love bear meat, I had bear roast he made and it was great. Then he shot a bear that turned out to be really disguisting tasting, and he can't bring himself to eat bear anymore. So I can understand people being turned off of eating bear. I don't shoot them unless they're being a nuisance, since I don't want to skin one unless it's a real trophy. Maybe then I'll cut some off and BBQ it, only if it tastes good will I cut and wrap it. I guess this is why I hunt whitetail deer. As for all of you guys who figure coyote will taste fine, let's hear about it. I'm not interested, I know a guy who tried some, and it was a one time affair. :puke:
