Gee, whodathunkit?
Couple that with the constant use of aerosol air fresheners/conditioners, anti-bacterial hand soaps/cleaners, disinfectant sprays, etc. and we wonder why we have high incidence of respiratory problems like asthma, 'super bugs', cancers and God knows what else.
We live in a toxic soup of chemicals! Enough already! If you want your house to smell like the outdoors, open a $%#@!*& window!
At a CAS shoot, one of the shooters (a dentist) was cleaning his malfunctioning Marlin carbine wearing rubber gloves. I kidded him about not wanting to cut his hands and he said it was because he didn't want his skin to absorb what was in the brand name cleaner he was using. That kind of turned me off using some products, at least not saturating my fingers in them.
The machine shop types I used to work with had several hand coating cream dispensers in their washroom. I bugged them about it and they told me they had evidence of health concerns regarding the cutting oils, lubes, degreasers, etc. that they used daily. They were all for anything that prevented absorption, even if it made them smell pretty.
