Welcome to the ATF SBR-9 restricted FRT 197619

This thread is about the ATF SBR-9.
It received it's FRT number last year and is expected to be imported in both R and NR.
We are waiting to hear from IRG for an update on production status.

Incorrect, it will be available in restricted models only, if you go through this thread, its quite obvious the NR aspect was floated by some users in the post and not IRUNGUNS, a tilt lock 18.6" barrel is almost impossible, it would be no different than trying to shoot a 18" barreled Glock 17.
The FRT itself also proves this, there is no NR version in the FRT, only multiple R barrels

Lol they make a 16" barrel in the states for a Glock bullpup kit. So the action is not the problem

Bullpup kits in Canada are prohibited, the bullpup kit barrel is custom fitted to said kit, and is dependent on the chassis to function correctly, it moves the receiver into and mechanics into a new and completely different firearm, making this NR would be impossible as the mounting point for the barrel needs and mechanism need to remain the same, the barrel physically needs to extend from the front as it sits to NR length. The lock block and slide alone cannot support their weight and movement, just because a kit exists somewhere doesn't mean its doable, thats like saying a AR15 BCG will work in an AR10 because it functions the same way and looks identical.

No bullpup kit. Works fine in Roni's or pinoccioed in standard config.

YOU are incorrect. Apparently you've not been following this thread from the beginning or haven't read it all the way through.

Post #180 on page 18 of this thread, IRG clearly says there will be both R and NR versions:

Also on Post #274 of page 28 says that a "NR version is currently in development":

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...FRT-197619?p=19819460&viewfull=1#post19819460

Also, 16" Glock barrels are already sold and used in the US.

I'm sick of people jumping in this thread thinking whey know stuff when they clearly don't.

Yes, I have seen that post, good luck trying to make it cycle properly, and be valid for the lab to not deem this a pistol, assuming IRG brings actual fruition to the NR model, just because they said they are trying to work on it, doesn't mean its a promise, they are free to abandon that thought at anytime, as its their project, and they owe us nothing, all the while competing with the current PCC already on the market. The image show is a pistol with a longer barrel and bolt on stocks, it is still a glock lower, IRG is not using a glock lower, they have designed their own, other factors are at play there, drop in parts wont always be drop in.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this product, and I would love for another NR PCC on the market, but given all the circumstances, I'm trying to give people a realistic point to this, just because it there's a prototype doesn't mean people will be getting everything the want.
Even the R model is still to hit shelves yet. There is 0 point for people to hold their breath waiting for this.

Why would it be deemed as a pistol if it already has an frt as a restricted carbine ? The longer barrel Makes it a pistol somehow? That’s the opposite

The SBR configuration doesn't do anything for me, being restricted takes all the fun out of it.

OTOH I'd be highly tempted by a nonrestricted carbine based on the Glock M17. Look like that might be done relatively easily with what IRUNGUNS has in the SBR.

Iam starting to think this is a unicorn. Even if it does come to be Iam afraid the firearms committee is going to give it a hard no

Why would they say no. You don’t think for a minute that there gonna have that committee filled with liberal anti gunners soon we will be lucky to get single shot

Be patient. These things take time. Defeatist tangents and negative speculation are of help to no one and are quite frankly annoying.
