Welding a firing pin.

It's undoubtedly easier to just buy the damn thing. BUT, over the years I've welded a number of small gun parts, and with the proper tempering, all but one is still going strong. TIG is the best and what I use... can't comment on the worth of other welding techniques.
 
Still going to try welding it, have not come across a blade or any hardened stock the right thickness.

Wife turns out will be heading to California so I'll buy one.

25 bucks for a pin, and over $50 to ship it here! forget that!
 
make a new out of 550 stainless i can give you the dimentons if you need them but all you need is a hacksaw flatfile and a stright edge

and about the welding no matter what kind of welding you do it will always be brittle at the edges of the weld soldering would be better for that but with the stress a new one would be good but i think the stainless would last longer
