Someone told me if the muzzle brake (or the flash hidder) is weld to the barrel. The barrel lenght become increase... I mean the overall lengt and the barrel lengt, will now include the muzzle break.
What is the point of the question?
Are you trying to rebarrel a non restricted rifle to the shortest possible length and remain non restricted?
I would call the RCMP Chief Firearm Officer in your province and describe what you are planning and get your answer straight from the office that regulates these things. That way you don't do something then find out later you have created a restricted firearm.
Asking legal questions on a forum will not always get you the real answer as some people will answer you with their interpretation of the law or will tell you what they think.
Personnally I don't need to change my guns. They are perfect like they are.
Since I see Questar rebarrel restricted ACR to be unrestricted, I was curious to see what could be done to a riffle to change is class... Maybe it could have been a solution for Questar or any others distributors to offer to us more interesting products.
Someone told me it was possible to weld the muzzle device and I was curious to know if it's true. Like I'm curious to understand why Keltec RFB and Tavor are legal but not a kit to modify an existing gun. Even if it still have an unrestricted barrel and overall lengt.
Canadian laws about guns did not seem logical all the time. I can't beleive the insane and dangerous BumpFire stocks are legal but not a Bullpup kit.
