Well can't believe I stooped this low... Bought a Norinco 1911 A1

you always ask "what level am I at and what will I use it for- the beginner that buys a kimber or les bauer could be indeed be "buying the stamp" I\ve got a colt mk1v/series 70 that's had all the tricks done to it including grinding the frame( it's mostly a Wilson now) b/c that's what was available at the time- either that or buy a frame and build it- now , starting over, i'd go for the norinco every time out- truth be told the rest of the entry level guns are at least 2x more and ain't that much better

Question is can you outshoot this lowly NORC cause if the NORC is better than you are than you are the lowly stooped one.

I always feel a little disappointed with every Chinese gun I buy. The price lures me in, but I always expect better quality even when I know better. In the end, they usually run well, and shoot OK with a few tweaks, but really are not a "bargain" or a deal. They are a $300-$350 gun and not worth a penny more. Compared to the SAMs which would be the next level up at $50 to $100 more for them, the norks fall way short.

Stooped low? I don't think so. Norc has the best bang for your buck. NOT the nicest pistol in the market, but with this pistol, you can do whatever you want. Spend decent money and learn the tricks of the hobby.

Well I was in the market for a handgun, either looking at buying a M&P, CZ, Glock 17, or something of decent quality. But I ended visiting my gunsmith who had a Norinco 1911 A1 Compact 45 auto... I had done reviews on them and lots were mixed but I said what the hell, I kinda wanted a cheaper gun that I didn't have to worry about bangin' around and stuff. It seems to function fine so far, only put 25 rounds through it. I had paid an extra $100 for this model as it had been completely gone through and smoothed out. What is your guys opinion on these guns? Hoping I am not going to regret buying this thing haha.

For the price and the minor amount of TLC required... It's an awesome pistol for range action.... Replacement/upgrade parts are reasonably priced and readily available... Enjoy it.

Hope the OP didn't pay too much. Canada Ammo had the Norinco government model on sale now for $299. Sale started yesterday.

I don't like government models so I'd go SAM from Wolverine myself for a cheap 1911
