Well I am joining the M14 brotherhood!

Mandarb11.... you have mail ;)

this is the second "not feeding from the mag" issue that has arisen lately..... can't find the other thread.....
give yer mag a good wack from underneath, make sure she's seated all the way..... even if you are sure you heard it snap in.

if the rifle fails to pic up a round when letting the oprod fly home, do not cycle it by hand... pull it back , let go abruptly and let it fly foward. If it des not pick up a round with every mag you try...... could be an issue with the bolt riding too high..... but, I would first, give it a wack from underneath.... new parts sometime need some working in. then if still a problem, try other mags, check feedlips..... ect. if a consistant issue that remains unsolved, return to dealer for exchange :D

Well I took it out again today, I tried what 45ACPKING said and slammed the mag in after I heard it click, no problems. I fired about 20 shots all of them cycled flawlessly! Thanks for that advise. Got her home and completely field stripped it, cleaned it and oiled it...I am a happy man!

Especially with new rifles and/or when one changes the spring guide, mags sometimes don't seat properly because the spring guide nub did not engage correctly in the mag hole up front.

When loading, mag pressed in and do the tug check.
