Well I've Decided To Try And Build An AR15 *** ITS FINISHED *** POST 42

well I have a 2x 20 foot chunks of that rail sitting in my shop, so yes I do know who " makes it".

That's what I figured but wanted to see if you'd confirm it for me. ;)

I'm not surprised, sometimes manufactures also just can't keep up and have to farm out stuff or just certain parts of the item.

I have to say its a very nice quad rail and I'm in love with it on my AR.

It's all done. Ended up going with a Kreiger barrel, Dlask A6 muzzle brake and WMD NiB BCG.

Hoping to test fire it this Friday.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!! Great Job !

that's a nice rifle, good work indeed.

Man that looks good. Drool......

Thanx guys.

sorry if this was answered already but why did you sell your m&p15? also congrats on the new build, nicely done.

I sold my M&P15 to fund the purchasing of my 1919a4. Unfortunately several firearms in my collection had to go to fund the purchase. When I bought my 1919a4 it was at our slow period at work so I didn't have the 6000$ readily available to purchase it.

Work picks up with massive ridiculous amounts of overtime in May quite often around 70+ hours a week so I then had the disposable income to fund more purchases and start this project.

The M&P15 was my first AR15 I ever bought and I put maybe 200 rounds down the pipe in the 3 years I owned it. It was a great AR but in my opinion many " production " AR's don't fit my needs when it comes to customizing or owning an AR. Spend all sorts of extra money replacing barrels, gas blocks, triggers, stocks and installing quad rails to make it what you want so to me its not worth the extra expense. It's better to build a full out custom that fits your needs exactly. How you want it exactly the first time.

Hope that answers the question for you.

the only reason I asked is because I recently purchased one and I really like it. the build quality is very good. what you said about needing to fund the m1919 answers everything. congrats on the new one though, be sure to post a range report.

Looks good!

Psst, Magpul Miad needed, cough cough.

Thanx, and the miad is on order ;)

How much does it weigh without the glass?

I don't have a scale to weigh it but will try to get one. I'm gonna guess around 7-8 pounds. I can shoulder it standing no problem with the optics.

Nice work, mildcustom!
And months ahead of schedule.

Thanx, I still have my Spikes NiB BCG and RRA Varmint barrel coming so I guess I'll have to build another one in the future. ;)

Love it!!
In a civilized world I would say "hey, bring it out Tuesday night for the monthly Lower Mainland get together" :(

Thanx

I wish I could but sadly we live in a communist dictatorship fully of pansies and whining miss nancies. ;)

In pretty sure I shall be there Tuesday night.

that muzzle brake looks great - let us know how you like it!!!

I will for sure. I'm hoping to test fire this rifle Friday.
