Well Known Guide Convicted for Second Time In Two Years.

Nope, the packer, in more cosmopolitan terms he was the driver, who drove the guide to the area, sat at camp and tended the horses and tents generally. Both he and the guide would be employees of the outfitter, who would fill your coordinator role. There are even packing competitions still here in the west, a friend won this year's.

Regardless his role he was prohibited from working in the industry in any capacity, and appears he just got slapped at home and in the Yukon for it.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

Shouldn't this be in the News Digest?. I got blasted for posting something similar from CBC in the wrong forum. Maybe because I'm not a prolific poster?

The blasting is random. Don't feel bad. I'm still riding out an infarction for not editing a post fast enough.

You're in good company.

Geez...I hope you mean 'inFRAction"

Nope, I mean inFARCtion. No typos. An MI. Dead cardium. Fat ankles. Short of breath. Nitro spray in the pocket.

When I get my dinky slapped for stupid things in a world where PMs like this occur, I make fun of it:

text from PM from unnamed CGN member:

" Take your SJW political correct bull sh|t and pound it up your ass. "

Regarding the joke....Pat Garret and Tombstone are highlighted in the corresponding quote....quick google brings you to Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid...sorry to end the subtlety but it is a serious subject and those referring to a joke mean no disrespect to the topic.

This act of posting a pm without the pm party accepting is in fact 'nudder infraction.......?

Dunno Kamlooky, is it??

Either way - it's edited.

The original abusive PM was reported. Wonder if it was infarcted??

Isn't it the "wrangler" that fills that role? Man, you westerners have a specialist for every detail, no wonder Alberta voted NDP. :p :)

A packer is a professional version and licenced transporter, as in BC at least packers are licenced. Many operations in BC are large and one friend's uses a couple dozen horses, so there are many hands involved from the packer down to the wranglers. Roles blend and outfitters can be packers, and guides wranglers, and so on.

Just a bit of joking around Ardent. Don't take things too seriously, it's not healthy. ;)

I'd guess that if he was packing (which I assume means moving supplies to/from the hunting area by horse) he is still "hunting" by being employed by an outfitter and actively facilitating the hunt.

He just didn't care as he was obsessed with the hunt/kill and obtaining his species record.

You're stretching like an anti now. While in this instance he was unquestionably in the wrong and deserves the punishment, he was running pack horses, not killing and chasing his "obsession". There is nothing wrong with chasing an accomplishment, including the NA 29 which is in fact rather admirable. There is something very wrong with what he's done outside of that pursuit.

Don't mix the two and run on emotion, as under that logic your gun interests are equally unjustifiable.
