I just found this today and since I haven't seen any other posts about it, I thought I'd share this with you good folks. As of now it is only available in
.22LR/410 and .22Mag/410, but I've heard (and you can take that as a rumour) that the 20 Gauge varient will come later. The MSRP from Savage's site is
$460, which isn't too bad. My only question is does it fully break-down?

Looks like something off of a spaceship. What happened to walnut and steel? I know rising labour and material rates. I am stuck in the '50's.

LOL.... Ya, I kinda like the old ones too, but if it breaks-down I think they would be a great truck gun, although I'd prefer a .22 mag/20 Gauge myself. I am glad to see them being made again though.

To the OP: Thanks for posting this!

I hope that this new shotgun/rifle is a big hit for Savage and that they are encouraged to bring out a number of similar variants:

someone already asked for a 30-30 / 20ga. model and I would like to see a .308 /12Ga. (actually I would prefer a .270 / 12ga. but I doubt that would happen)

What would be really nice and I hope Savage is listening, would be the ability to buy additional barrel sets in different chamberings: like a .270/12, a
30-30/20, a .357/410 etc. I think a lot more people might consider buying one then.

My eyes... what is with manufacturers defacing good long standing products as fast as they can as of late? Really, who are the guys that designed this thing and where are their Hyundai cars parked because I'd like to throw some eggs and leave a note.

"Everybody seems to like the old ones, so let's see if they'll buy it if we do this and this and this." Ya, sometimes I think they design things just to see if we're
paying attention. :D I mean there are improvements they could have made with the original design, but these changes seem a bit much.
