well they recieved my app for pal and rpal in the mail today!

Here's ours, my husband and I sent our applications in together:
Application for PAL/RPAL received Oct 15th
November 2nd status changed: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date.
November 13th: They called us about 45 minutes apart to do our interviews and left messages for our references
November 14th: References called in and did their interviews in the morning
November 14th: Status changed to applications have been approved and licenses have been issued. Should be here within 2 weeks!
We are new applicants for both PAL/RPAL 31 days from receiving to approved and issued, not too shabby!

Now I have to make up my mind between a Sig p226 and a CZ 75 Shadow....input anyone?

3 weeks since interviews complete and application sent to BC CFO. Called last week to verify that that's where it was sitting and told it could take any amount of time for BC to push the button and send it back to CFC electronically.

got a number handy? when they phoned me it was a blocked number so I couldn't save it.

1 800 731 4000
Follow the prompts choose "1" for knowing the extension number you wish to reach
Extension 2533
Your reference will need to give them your application number which is the 10 digit number between the hyphens on the Status of your application page on the CFC website.

They're open 9 to 5 Pacific time.

Congrats! Now you get to wait like the rest of us for it to show up in the mail!

Too many holidays this time of year and with Christmas cards the Postal service is very slow...mine was issued Dec 14 and I'm still waiting...if not tomorrow I'll call them as 2 weeks passed on Monday

Mailed Nov 13
Rec'd in Miramichi Nov 16
On-line Dec 05
Interviews Dec 11
Issued Dec 14 (exactly 28 days)

Not sure what date my PAL was printed. When I called for my ATT on Dec17 the (Alberta) CFO told me my PAL was in the print Queue. I have had my ATT since before Christmas so I know my license number but without the PAL local stores won't sell me anything.

Congrats! I must say i cant understand why this process takes so long, cant be that many applications to process :)

ok, so I can get my RPAL number?

I guess this is the time to get my LTATT?

is there a link that tells me the exact steps to follow on this? Like, for a dummy? I hate paperwork and I often get flustered or forget something.

Call the the same 800 number and select the option for ATT. Most likely the Alberta CFO will answer and tell you she is helping out the BC CFO. She will take your application on the phone. She will give you and email address or fax number for you to send your range membership card. Send it ASAP and most likely she will process your ATT same day. Ask her to send it by email and by post. Your Pal number will be on the ATT.

Keep in mind that the ATT says you must be in possession of a valid license so the most you can do is order on line while you wait for the PAL

The Firearm Centre wouldn't give it to me on the phone but the BC / Alberta CFO looked me up by name and DOB and [rocessed my ATT over the phone. As soon as I emailed her a scan of my range membership card the ATT was issued, and you can request it by email so it's same day service. ...the license number is on the ATT

I hear ya! This coming Monday will be my 2 weeks so Im really hoping it shows up this week.

Buy a gun from every site sponsor and get them to hold till your license gets in. Nothing beats having a gun collection in the first week you have a license

Visleguy, John in BC and Nitpicker,
just some advice, if your License doesn't show up in the mail within the 2 weeks they state (give them a few extra days due to the holidays) call them!! When mine didn't show up I called and at first I got "oh well it can take up to 3 weeks" but when I had her check my file she found that they had entered my address incorrectly so they mailed it out to the wrong address. If I hadn't of called it could have been weeks until it was returned to the CFC and they realized their error, contacted me, re-issued and re-mailed it.
My very limited experience so far has taught me to be proactive when dealing with the CFC or BC CFO. That's why I'll be calling them tomorrow to check on a couple of transfers I'm waiting on, calling seems to help "dislodge" your paperwork from a pile and gets it moving again. ;)
