keep them coming boys. love a well used gun most of my rifles and shotguns look like that their in their working clothes.

This is a rifle that was given to me by my father many-many years ago. I have used this old girl to take a boxcar full of animals when I was younger. Numerous deer, black bears, moose, and 1 elk have all ended up on the dinner table thanks to this old girl.

This is Wally Johnson's .375. It was for sale, but I can't find the listing anymore. I think the asking price was something like $70,000.
It has some Super Grade features, like the cheekpiece and swivels, but there's no forend tip and Super Grade isn't engraved on the floorplate. There's hardly any checkering left on it at all. Interesting modification of the backsight.

More of Wally's gun: looks like it had a grip cap at one point in it's life too, also consistent with a Super Grade stock.

Lets see if I can figure out how to post images. This is a Saddle Ring Carbine I found at a gun store a few years back. I did not buy it due to insufficient funds, but I did get a picture to drool over. IIRC, the owner didn't really wanna sell it anyway.

I love my FN BACO M70 but I'm not a fan of the satin wood finish. Anyone know a good process for getting the satin off and giving it an old school oil finish?

The old pre 64 blueing against an oiled wood (or just worn off varnish) can't be beat.
Seventy Grand? U.S.? That's around $100,000 Canadian. Hilarious amount for a vicarious hunting experience. Imagine how many great hunts and/or great rifles you could buy for $100,000. And then create your own hunting and shooting memories. The famous scientist, hunter and explorer Roy Chapman Andrews was once offered the opportunity to buy his childhood .22 rifle. He turned it down as "just another beat up .22." But someone else probably paid a premium for it.
