Had a great night at the ATS in abbotsford tonight, my first time shooting this way, and it gave me the opportunity to try a couple of different pistols and meet a bunch of people.

After talking with Slavex for awhile he was gracious enough to let me use his Beretta for one round, not sure what model and then for the next several rounds i used his S&W M&P 9, which is a very nice gun for a left-handed shooter. He switched around the mag release and changed the palm grip to fit my hand size and that took maybe 2 minutes tops, like i said a great gun. I also got a good bunch of safety tips from slavex that are particular to this type of shooting.

The other shooters were very patient with me, i took things pretty slow, they were using a calendar to time me, and i got a chance to see a lot of different handguns being used.

All in all a good night and i am looking forward to my first skills and drills night with-hopefully- my own gear.
Thanks for the night out, looking forward to many more.

good seeing you out and you did great. unlike a lot of newer shooters you didn't get confused with all the rules and what you were supposed to do. Hope to see you out again soon.
The Beretta is an Elite 1A 9mm. Which is the competition Vertec (straight grip style) pistol.

Rob, are your S&D nights always on Fridays?
I would like to join you guys, but I work the dreaded afternoon shift, so Fri evening is out for me.

typically I alternate Fri and Sat, but it'll be Fri this week too as I am busy on Sat.

Hope to be there this Friday, I will be out in the morning at the ATC shoot and will need something to do inbetween so I don't have to drive back to N. Van, any ideas?
