Out of curiosity;

During Small Arms Limited's existence between 1940 and 1945/46, were any of the firearms produced under them ever marked as S.A.L on the receivers?

Or were they all marked Long Branch (or later C.A.L) etc?

I've only ever seen a couple of these buttstocks with the big S.A.L. Co stamped in them. Also there's the Inglis holsters.

Does anyone know if that is actually the Small Arms Ltd. marking?

What rifle is that butt on? No SAL gun I know of came with a brass buttplate. Also, I've never seen "SAL Co" representing Small Arms Limited. Usually it's "S.A. LTD." when stamped on something.
