Were any milsurps banned? Will any be banned?

It’s not like I’m sitting on these guns waiting to cash out on them one day. I own them because I think they’re amazing and fascinating. I was just trying to think ahead and probably did let paranoia get the best of me. I do appreciate your input.

I’m personally with you on this. Everyone has a finite amount of money to spend on guns, why spend on something that may be banned tomorrow when you could spend that money on something equally as interesting that isn’t banned. I’m not in the business of buying expensive paper weights.

The casual availability of M2 carbines and random rummage-around boxes of parts did change.

Back in the '60s, M2 carbines with the change lever removed were being sold as M1s. That was the only modification. I owned one once and the chap I bought it from said he bought it at the Bay store in Winnipeg. There were a lot of people who owned them without realizing that they had prohibited converted automatics. I wonder how many people are still in that position. Some are probably registered as M1s. Some have probably been re-barreled by people who thought they were making them non-restricted. The 2 instead of the 1 stamped on top of the receiver makes all the difference.
