Were did all the AK drum mags go???

modding an ak mag to fit a vz58 is actually a very easy conversion. You have to gring top lug of front catch down a bit remove old rear catch and weld on new rear catch.

hey C , if the 40rd is the same as the 30rd then i think i have to add to the front lug cos AK is smaller on the sides .

All the drums are gone ,always on the hunt for more but they are getting more expensive in the US too.
I don't have the mags listed yet,and i probably won't bother as i'd like to hang onto some of them a while longer.

They were selling AK drums for $300 at the Pensylvania gun show last weekend.

I also saw some phenolic resin ( sp ? ) 30 rounders for the first time when I was there, they are really nice.

Got the answer from someone else, I was given information from a man who was talking beltfed when I was talking drums...
Oh yeah, and I know now it is the law, but why should they be?:)

Certain drum magazines are exempt from the cartridge limits. They include the Vickers drum, the Lewis drum, the German saddle-drum, the Luger drum, and the Bren Drum. I have an original Bren drum in it's legal and unmolested form. However, aside from the Luger drums, all the others are now for prohibited guns which are no longer allowed to the range, so they are kind of a moot point.

The communist bloc drums, along with some historic drums like the Thompson, were not included on the exemption list.
