I'd like to purchase a Colt Commander model O4012XSE. This is the stainless steel model.
Anyone know where I can get one without having to wait for months?

One of the finest pistols ever produced, and my all-time fav. Originally all Commanders were lightweight with alloy frame and steel slide. The all steel version, called the Combat Commander was introduced around 1970, and the lightweight version was re-badged as the Lightweight Commander. Colt seems to have dropped the "Combat" part of the name in their current offerings.

That's my Combat Commander in my Avatar. :)

Hello
It appears the colt combat commander is very hard to get in Canada.
Is the Sig 1911 carry in Stainless just as good?
Apples and Oranges really. It depends on what you're looking for. IMO the Colt name carries a heritage and history that makes them very attractive. They also hold their value very well. If all you're looking for is a shooter, there are several Commander style options. I'm not familiar with the Sig but the STI Ranger II is a quality pistol.

Here's an option you should be considering;

1) Find one on Guns America, Gun Broker, Guns international or any similar US site.

2) Contact Clay Smiley at Prophet River and buy the pistol.

3) Clay imports it for you and you get it in a month or two.

Even with the import cost, taxes and custom fees, you probably won't pay a lot more than what you'd pay here in Canada.

Good luck

I hope so, I just bought one on the weekend and am waiting for the papers. It's definately a thing of beauty, and of course it's a SIG :dancingbanana:
