Were to start on building/buying a target rifle.

I was in the same situation your in with the cash. I went with a Savage 10FCP 308, Millet Scope 6-24x56, bipod and hand loads. Very happy with this set up, shooting nice holes at 300 yards, working my way out slowly but so far its great ! I will upgrade the rifel as I upgrade my skills LOL !! Oh it it comes with a muzzel break which is awesome, shot 150 rounds no bruises LOL

i bought my Rem 700P and Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10 40mm here on the exchange, had a gunsmith free float it, bed it, and install a Timney trigger and i'm still under $2400.

Wolverine has 200rds of Federal Gold Match 168gr going for approx 380 all in to your door by UPS...

I'm new to rifle shooting and haven't gone to an outdoor range yet...in an indoor 40yd range with a sled (i think that's what they call the rifle holder contraption) i can get 1/4" 5 rd groups...I'm looking forward to see what I can do at 100 yds and beyond, but I think if there is any fault it will be me not the gun.

Good luck and have fun!

sps action 400$, egw rail 60$, burris sig z rings 60$, bbl 400-560$, shilen trigger 110$, bushnell 4200 600$, take off hs precision stock 300$, bottom metal 80$

Still under 2400$

2400$ will get a rifle that can be competitive in many shooting dicipline's.
