Well kiddies , who's up for it? :D
I will be hosting an M14 clinic, AKA West Coast M14 Support Group, SUNDAY January 18, 2009, at my new digs in Langley, B.C. . Out of towners are welcome, I have 2 nicely furnished spare rooms and .... there's always the shop floor :D
LOCATION and final details will be sent by p.m. once the list is full.
time: 10:00 a.m. to ........ whenever we decide to wrap it up ;)
PARKING might be an issue.... i will for sure have room for 5 to 6 vehicles in the driveway...possibly 8 .... CARPOOLING might be a good idea if we can arrange that some how.
Snacks and beverages are welcome of course..... BBQ is also availlable if required :D
This all day event will be geared towards teaching you the "how to's" of tuning, tweaking and modifying your norinco m14s. Springfield M1A's are also welcome.
All applicable tools will be on hand..... and we will have a TIG welder on site for unitizing gas assemblies should anyone be up for that.*** there will be a small fee for this as the equipment will be rented for the occasion.... should not be more than 10.00 per gas assembly. If i can swing it for free, I will ;)

so........ please post questions here , and only p.m. me if you are confirming your attendance. We will have room for 12.

Sounds great, but there is no way I can commit to it unless my m14 arrives from marstar in time. Couple of questions though, in case there's still a spot open when/if I can make it.

Do you have any USGI synthetic stocks that I could pick up from you during the clinic?

How long would the clinic last? Early/late afternoon or evening? (I'd have to catch the ferry back to the island at a reasonable hour)

i do not sell standard usgi stocks anymore. You can have a look at a few of my custom stocks at the clinics...... but i generally do not use the clinics as a sales platform :D , that said folks are welcome to bring there surplus bits 'n' things for sale and trade, it's a good place to network with fellow cgn'ers. My m14 building is complete for now and virtually all the parts and things i had aquired have been passed on or installed into a custom rig.
There may be a couple of local cgn'ers attending the january event that might have some decent fiberglass usgi stocks...... stay tuned :D
generally clinic times start at 10:00 a.m. and continue till....... sometime late afternoon...... evening...... it's a pretty loose schedule in the afternoon.

Is it safe to do the welding if one cannot remove the flash hider? I have one that the flash hider wouldn't come off even with excessive pounding. :(

Come on Bruise! You saw our manly tools at the support group. We can get ANY flash hider off!:dancingbanana:

PS I am planning on being there. Getting a unitized assy for mine plus having fun, learning and teaching, all my tools will be there for anyone who wants to use them. Rumor has it that we may be chambering a barrel at the clinic using a pull through reamer, a useful skill to know.

my wife is taking me to Mexico for my birthday, and I don't get back till Jan 22.
You couldn't make The West Coastert happen on Jan25th could you??
PS: I haven't even touched an M14 since the last time I was over ... playing with glocks and AR 15's the last little while.
