West Coast M14 Clinic, January 18 2009 Langley, B.C.

Let me be the first to say thanks again to 45ACPKING for putting up his place and making his knowledge available, lots of great work done again today.

How many rifles got welded in total? At least 10 I would think, if not more...I got three done myself and the welds look great.

Thanks alot 45ACPKING for holding this great event and to all the people that helped me out and taught me a few things. Learned alot and my gas system looks great. Just need to find a cheap source of 7.62 Nato so I can enjoy it with out destroying my bank account!
 
+ infinity. A great time. Really cool to get the gas systems unitized. Thanks to Tim (?) who showed up and did the welding for us. Thanks to misanthropist who hooked me up. You rock. Already pondering dropping by the next one just to say hi.
 
Glad everyone had a good time. Usually we cover a lot more of the hands on tinkering at our clinics, BUT having Tony come out with the tig welder on his ONE day off per week, was a real treat. His son Anthony is now all pumped up about getting an m14 and will be no doubt a fixture at future clinics.

I want to express special thanx to our west coast m14 support group regulars, Doc911, Misanthropist and powmia56 for all thier "sharing of knowledge" with all the other m14 owners in attendance. you guys rock

Next weekends clinic will hopefully see us visited by Tony again for some more gas system untitizing ;)

Was really cool wandering throughout my house seeing the living room, kitchen, dining room, "shop" room AND the shop out back being put to full use by all the busy hands tuning and tweaking thier rifles into shape. My wife was once again impressed with how tidy the house was once everything quitened down...... We remain at green light status with my wife as far as future monthly clinics go :D :D

So, P.M. me if you have any follow up questions and perhaps I will see some of you again at later clinics.

I forgot to mention...... I think we set a record when it came to removing flash hiders..... Doc911 was manning my heavy duty barrel vice, firmly bolted to my 2" thick work bench and each rifle went in, solidly locked with the reciever butted up to the back of the barrel vice blocks. The hammering commenced, using a piece of steel bar and a hammer, Doc was SMITING those pesky flash hiders with authority..... I recall wandering into the shop in the house and he said to me in a "very proud of himself manner" ..... that's 10 for 10 man ..... we are on a roll. Not sure how many were removed with this method but well over 10 is my guess. :cheers:
 
maybe it was 65.00

last time we did a bunch.... like 9 or 10 all at once, all pulled barrels, I ran them in to Joe and everyone picked thiers up themselves. I am guessing at that time Joe must have given us a group price.

regardless , in the expert hands of joe dlask, 65.00 for chop, thread and recess crown is a bargain and a half..... big time
 
I'm picking up my new, shorter M14 next Saturday =) I also checked out the HK 416, 20th anniversary ed. lower, and M14 chassis... this trip is going to cost me a lot more than $65!
