West Coast M14 Support Group MAR 28 clinic *** WE ARE NOW FULL

Oh please bring a spring guide for me :)

Interestingly enough, there are detailed instructions in Kuhnhausen on how to make one of these if you have the stock guide and a piece of appropriate rod and a good welder. Might be fun to try although with the ready availability of inexpensive off the shelf NM guides, it seems less necessary than it once might have.

OR

I can bring a BIG bag of Wings, and we can cook them on the BBQ with.... BBQ Sause :) (M14Doc or powmia56 to decide) :D:D

It's no contest ;)
It's all about spreadin the M14 gospel and building community

What you all ought to watch for is a 4 day M14, camping on a large acerage, continual m14 tweaking and shooting down the road on crown land, shootin 22 at the mini gophers (ground squirrel).
Shop will have TIG MILL Lathe Parkerizing station fiberglass table and paint booth. Clear cut down the road is 375 yards with a hill backstop ;)
This is my vision for a 4 day canada wide annual event in the BC interior.
Whaddya think of them apples ;)

I'm emailing location and info for this sundays clinic right now so if you are on the list and I miss you, please email me. My cgn inbox is full again.... 1000 mssg cap isn't workin for me hehehehe so please use my email
See you all sunday :D

Clinic is still a GO at he surrey location
We do have indoor space... Comfy couches too ;)
My cell is on, you all have the number

Well that was well worth the trip out to Surrey. It sure beats going to the hospital from the range after the failure I could have had.

Now I've got to send my unfired M1A back to Springfield Arms because it's a POS but I would never have known that had I not gone to this clinic. I'm not even sure I want another one from SA.

Excellent clinic M14Doctor. Great insight on maintenance, cleaning and improvements on the M14 platform.

Thank YOU guys for comin out and makin my sunday a fun one.
Great bunch of guys met today and had a blast tinkerin and enlightening.

It was interesting to have TWO springfield M1A standard/synthetics (?) Out today.
As mentioned above, after this clinic, those TWO springers BOTH had seriously dangerous issues.
Apart from being gorgeous to the eye in finish.
Brand new unfired with 'F' series bolt, oprod fit to receiver is the loosest I have ever witnessed, chinese/springer or otherwise. A new unfitted usgi spec RWB oprod literally floated in the receiver's track. I fit these oprods often to chinese receiver's and they ALWAYS need a good 45 min PLUS to fit.... Diagnoses, WAY over spec oprod track dimension
Same new rifle, Bolt Roller hits receiver before bolt lug does... An old springfield gremlin STILL rears it's ugly head... YEARS after this issue was appparently dealt with by sprinfield QC

Second rifle purchased new 2007, receiver bridge tang opening is mispositioned. Firing pin tang shows serious metal fatigue and deep gouging, burring. At the end of the bolt lock up phase, when the tang is supposed to be in the open receiver bridge slot, due to slot position, near 10% of the tang is PAST the slot, so when the hammer falls, it is forcing the tang past the edge of the receiver bridge slot causing a VERY seriously dangerous situation.
Of not should be that no norcs/polys at this clinic exhibited no serious flaws except that MustangFrank's extractor detent divot was machined on a monday morning after a weekend binge of badass rice wine :D
Words not in yet on how these two sspringers got past springfield exceptional quality control.

Glad you guys did not get hurt ;) give me a call if you get any warranty grief , I have both rifle's issues on video :D

Thanx again guys and see ya'll next month

The american beef burgers ( :D ) were yummy :) thanx powmia56
And thanx to TonyG for his exceptional TIG skills and to Satain, always divin in and sharing his expertise ;)

Next clinic will be late april, we will focus on basic accurizing and I think we'll do an in depth tour of trigger tuning.
I'll announce next date soon.

Yep, once again, had to break the detent thingy to disassemble the bolt. At least this time the real problem was discovered and now fixed. Of course this was only made possible by the overwhelming generosity of Satain who provided the necessary spare parts....again. That guy ROCKS !! I also took the plunge and left the barrel with M14 Doc for chopping and threading and a new op rod fitting. After seeing the S.A.'s gorgeous blueing, that will probably on the list as well.

300 yd clear cut shooting and ground squirrels ?? HELL YA !!
