West of Calgary Hunting Road Conditions?

Anybody have any good insight on road conditions north of waiprous on the FTR? Maybe the transalta road? My boy wants to go grouse hunting, and I have Friday off.....

We were out west of Brag Creek today hunting moose and it wasn't too bad. A fair amount snow but you can get a truck through without too much issue. If your just in a 2 wheel drive vehicle you will need to be more cautious and walk a bit further. Tomorrow is suppose to be a nice day.

I wouldn't take a car on any of those roads, truck or SUV country .

it should be warmer today and the logging trucks usually pack the roads well.

lots of snow + warm weather = No place for old men ...or cars. Getting hung up in a wilderness area with a vehicle can be very expensive and time consuming (take lots of snackies)

Went up the FTR, then headed out to the ghost on the transalta road. Lots of snow, but passable - watch the icy bits (trappers hill, the small hill before enviros, etc). We were in a stock expedition.
