I decided to try something new - which is giving me quicker results
I use liquid laundry soap ( Kirkland brand) and Spray 9 cleaner and hot water ( and steel media) - I tumbled a bunch of 223 shells for 35 minutes, changed the water ( it was black!) added in some new laundry detergent and Lemi Shine, tumbled for another 30 minutes and they came out sparkling clean.

Pesky pin problem solution:
To avoid loosing those little pins while changing water, I put my tumbler into a larger steel bowl with a few magnets in it. When I turn on the tap into the tumbler container the water overflows into the larger container and then out of the larger container into the sink. I can use a lot of water pressure without fear of loosing those pins because they stay in the second steel container and are usually drawn to the magnets

This seems to do the job in about 1/2 the time as before

SONIC CLEANING QUESTION - Has anyone found a good home made solution? or do you just stick with Hornady Cleaning solution?

i used 6 good spray squirts. the reason i used HD laundry soap is because it doesn't create suds but will isolate grease and crud. as for spray 9 - its my favourite cleaner! If it doesn't remove something then it ain't coming off - try it in a coffee mug and you will see what i mean! etc.

and yes, i use stainless steel media

anyone know where you can purchase Citranox cleaner in Ontario for ultrasonic clears? i called Swish Cleaning and another place that sell commercial cleaning products but they dont carry it
