What’s cheaper? Stag 10 build or stag 10 factory rifle??

Should I build a stag 10? Or buy one? I sold mine last year and sorta regret it
 
it all depends how picky you are, if you aren't a factory rifle is probably the way to go, you can always change things up in the future but switching major parts will negate the saving quick...
My build costed me way more than the factory rifle, but I absolutely wanted something else than the factory barrel profile (the Fulton) and a specific rail (KAC MK11 RAS)... these two alone drastically increased the price tag (especially the rail) but what came to be is exactly the beast I was looking for.
 
Built mine. Wouldn’t do it any other way. Also never have to worry about loose fasteners or assembly mistakes as I did it all myself. Good way to get to know the rifle in & out.

I consider building it to be cheaper even though it cost me way more than a factory rifle. I got the rifle set up exactly how I want without wasting money on parts I would soon be replacing. If the factory rifle is set up how you want, and you don’t want anything else then that is the way to go. If you plan to change anything then build.
 
I got all except for the butt stock buffer buffer spring in tube the gas block and the bolt carrier group all from stag it was essentially pretty cheap but only by fifty bucks cheaper than the factory
 
Build it. You can get exactly what you want and know you put everything together so nothing is loose or misplaced. I originally picked up a GI model but ended up replacing LITERALLY every part, except the buffer tube, buffer retaining pin, and the take down pins. Everything else got swapped with super lightweight options. I'm aiming to go below 7 pounds unloaded with no optics lol.

You just need some headspace gauges to make sure your bolt goes with your barrel, and a torque wrench to tighten up the barrel nut to spec.

Super fun and rewarding to build for sure! It will be a bit more expensive to build it yourself if you get higher end parts, but you end up with something you want EXACTLY.

If you go with on sale or less crazy lightweight stuff, it will be cheaper to build.
 
Building seems mo betta lol... I don’t have a vise tho or any tools for the job. That would add up to a lot of money just getting the tools I need eh?
 
I had the Gi mlok 308 last year. Barrel was sorta medium weight I think. The hand guard was over the gas block which I don’t like too much. A tad front heavy. Little more balanced without going to a pencil barrel would be my ideal choice if possible
 
You can build one for a couple of hundred less than a bought one.
Vice and reaction rod will run you about $150
 
The TNA « reaction rod » and a DPMS/KAC wrench from Brownells is all I needed to buy, I already had a Brownells AR-15 GI wrench (for the castle nut and flash hider) well worth the minor investment to make it what you want IMHO.

It does balances well I think even if the rail is in no way lightweight.
 
You don't get the lifetime warranty when you don't buy a complete rifle from Stag. Main point for me

I am in the same boat. Planning to buy a LEV2 6.5cm(8.5LB according to armseast), then try to shave as much weight as possible, but not going to touch the barrel. Make sense? how much weight can be shaved off?
