What’s cheaper? Stag 10 build or stag 10 factory rifle??

I think by changing out the stock, handguard, bcg and muzzle device to the lightest possible you could save about a pound. You won't break 7lbs though that's for sure. I understand the allure of lightweight in a lighter caliber (223 etc) but with something that punches slightly more I do like to retain some mass in the gun. I think 7-8lbs is perfect. It's more about balance.

I bought a complete rifle, a GI model in the fall of 2018...slowlyyy changing out parts...will have a decent stack of factory parts to sell soon tho...rail, buttstock and buffer system, magazine, etc. ect. Will get some money back that way at least lol
Lifetime warranty is great except it says you cannot change out anything on the rifle (unauthorized modifications?). What's the fun of an AR platform rifle when you can't customize it at all? I'd rather buy a receiver set from Arms East and have warranty on that, and the rest you can mostly maintain and fix it yourself.

building all of mine..... they will never be sold so the transferable warranty means nothing to me.
I want my rifles to be exactly how I want them, purpose built. The options I desired were not available in a factory rifle so was the main driver behind choosing to build vs buying factory built.

I built mine as well. Wanted a couple things different from the factory offerings and just didn't make sense to buy a complete rifle and swap them out. Ended up being more cost effective to build for me. Not really concerned about the warranty on an AR type rifle as I can service pretty much anything myself.
Personally, I purchased the mlok stock rifle.
I had to reindex and tighten the gas block, otherwise it wouldn't cycle.
Been running AMAZING ever since...
Now with the risk of banning these types of rifles, I am looking at building a second one.
To be honest, everyone who holds my rifle says it is heavy, and I agree.
The worst though is off hand shooting such as when I am hunting, or carrying the rifle through the rough.
It is VERY front heavy, which feels like the stock will slip/move on your shoulder, plus the added weight in the front makes it harder to aim while standing.
Therefore, I plan on getting a receiver set, and waiting for parts to come on sale to built one that is less front heavy. (Handguard, barrel and muzzle brake)
Maybe see if lighter BCG will also compensate for the lighter rifle, and return recoil close to stock. Mind you, it's just a 308.
I hear STAG might be working on a DPMS Gen 2 type rifle, here's hoping.

I don't have a problem with the weight, I can easily one arm the rifle into position. The issue for me is the balance, and LOP. THE OEM stock is a joke, that's why I plan on putting a Magpul PRS Gen3 stock on this rifle, this stock has some good weight to it and should help balance out the rifle some. Unless your going with a magnesium/carbon fiber handguard the aluminum ones that come with the complete rifle are pretty light as it is, after careful consideration I was going to purchase said magnesium/carbon fiber hand guard, but decided the money it would cost me to purchase one of those hand guards, I could spend some money on machining some weight out of the stock handguard and still have cash for a Cerakote job. The biggest weight savings on this rifle are the Barrel, Barrel nut and BCG, everything else is just grams.

Whatever, it's all rederick at this point. And I am done talking about the Lib hype, there are finished in Oct. So they can cry wolf all they want. I am going to enjoy my culture, sport, tradition, and anything that is put through I will appeal multiply times and inundate the court systems more then they already are which will takes years before anything is seen before a judge making the Lib attempt at doing anything futile. As stated instructions by the Orgs.
