What’s your go to long range hunting rifle

Browning A-Bolt composite stalker .300 Win Mag. Topped with B&L Elite 4000 2.5-10x40mm.

The 26" barrel makes the most of 70 gr IMR 4350 behind a good 180 gr SP.

NAA.

X-bolt pro long range in 300 wm. I don't think it's worth full retail but you can still pick them up for a decent price, about 2k with rebate, a few times per year (black Friday bring one).

Accurate at the 600m range but I personally wouldn't take game at that distance.

Currently, for long range I'd have to say my 30-06 TC Encore, Its the one I'm most familiar with.
Secondly, I'd pick my 264 win mag Model 70, but I just started shooting it this year and haven't really stretched its legs yet.

Hmmmm probably my Browning X-bolt Hells Canyon Max Long Range in 6.5 Creedmoor. It's topped off with either a leupold VX3i LRP or a Vortex Strike Eagle. It's not a true long range gun though I guess though because I'm limited to the cartridge choice. But as far as what I'm comfortable with for hunting it's definitely a gun I'd shoot out to 4 or 500 yards on game with (situation depending). I've shot this gun out to 900 yards on steel already with no issues. And killed my biggest buck yet with it. The 26" barrel actually produces higher then the velocity posted on the box.

If you want to shoot long range either go with a 7mm PRC or a 300 PRC, not that other cartridges can’t shoot long range but they are properly throated and have heavy for caliber high BC bullets loaded in factory ammo for this very purpose.

Both those cartridges need a brake for recoil reduction if you shoot lots.

I’ve been shooting the 6.5 PRC necked up to 7mm and it’s proving to be an excellent cartridge
I’m shooting 175gr Berger’s at 2900 fps out of a 26” barrel.

6.5 PRC is another excellent option.
I'd love a factory offering of a 7mmPRC short. 6.8 western is a fan favorite of mine but the traction just isn't there from the Rifle manufacturers and ammo manufacturers. Such a shame.

I'm a fan of 6.8 Western, too bad the support just isn't there. One of the site sponsors had some inexpensive X-Bolts around Black Friday and I was all ready to make an irresponsible purchasing decision (need another long range rifle like a hole in a bucket) but I held fast. I could see myself thinking I'd replace my 6.5 PRC, .270 Win, and 7mm Rem Mag with a shiny new 6.8W, but I know how that would go, there'd just be another gun in the safe :ROFLMAO:

Bahahaha omg I was totally doing that too. I want another xbolt but in 6.8 but I also want 6.8 to be as popular as 30-06 first 😂😂

I feel ya. I mean, I reload so it's not a big deal and there are some heavy for caliber bullets available in .277 now so I'm on the fence still. This was the model and I think it was a tick over a grand:

That would do fine, I'd probably remove the muzzle brake and stick a Razor on it and post it here for all to see and then go shoot a deer at like 70 yards.
