What 180 bullet for 300 win?

What 180g bullets do you guys recommend for all around hunting?
I am just getting into reloading...

barnes triple shock has excellent balistics and weight retention. I use the 178gr in my 300wm

180 grain Nosler Partition. The 180 grain Hornady SP is a close second.

The Barnes TSX are good bullets but in all honesty they won't do anything better than the Hornady and Nosler.

Also take a long hard look at the 190 grain Hornady BTSP. It was specifically designed for the 300 Magnums and is a great "all-round" bullet.

I use Sierra 180gr. flat base for everything from whitetail deer to moose with no problem.A hunting buddy and I both shoot 300Win mags and have used this same load since at least 1977. We have taken our fair share of game with no problems.

X2!! Without a doubt, the best choice to use with any of the big 30's. If you want the ultimate big 30 bullet, step up to the 200 Partition. Should be able to get close to 3000 with it, and it shoots so very close to the same trajectory out to 500 yards that you will never know the difference. Regards, Eagleye.

I'm currently using the 180-grain Nosler Accubond, and it works well.

I'm sure that a 168-Barnes Tripleshock would be close to the all-around ideal.

I use the 168 gr TSX in my 300 winny with excellent results, animals as big as moose, kudu and gemsbok all with one shot. They open fast enough for small deer and still penetrate very deeply, significantly deeper than a standard cup and core bullet.

I agree, I get very good accuracy with the 190 BTSP Hornady's out of my 300 Winnie

I also agree about the 200 grain Partition's, shoot the one that gives the best accuracy in your rifle.

Unless a heavy bullet is chosen, I think a .300 Winchester drives .30 caliber bullets too fast. The TSX stands up to high velocity best, so if you insist on a 180 I would choose it, other wise load 200 or 220 gr bullets, to drop the velocity for better bullet performance.

the way i guage it is 165 is about right for 308( used to think 180, but then i got into m14s) 180-200 for the '06, and 200s-220's for the bigger 30 cal magnums- if you want more weight or speed, upgrade to the 338

I had good hunting results with the TSX 180's but had the Hornaday Interbonds group the best by far, I have shot animals with the Speer Grand slams and had heavy meat loss every time, TSX cut the loss down considerably.

I have had great success with plain Jane Remingtom Coreloks. They shoot very well (<1") in my gun (Win M70) and preform nicely on moose. I tried the Nosler 180gr. part and it just wouldn't group less than 2.5" through my gun.

My 300 is built for the heavy bullets. It likes its 220gr Noslers, the 220 horandys not as much but it likes 200 gr sierras

The 180gr tsx will retain more weight and penetrate better than a 200gr partition.It is also more accurate in my rifles.

Ballistic Tips make a real mess of the inside of a deer. Seem to work alright.
