What 1911 grips to buy?

Check Sarco for grips. I just ordered some .45 composition WW2 grips from them. $14.99 for the pair. They also have others which are very reasonable.

On GI 1911's I prefer the actual GI grips.

As 'replacements' on other 1911A1's I like double diamond checkered hardwoods. Or Pachmayr wraparounds without thumbswells.

I guess I will have to try and find some potions at P&D etc. in Edmonton and see what I like the best. Do you need special bushings or screws once you go away from the norc grips? Everything on my M-14 is metric and some are really odd metric threads(set screws etc.), so does this apply to there 1911 pistols?

Thanks, BH

I get rather sweaty, clammy hands. My Sig 1911 came with the ERGO XT grips, and front and rear checkering. Even when my hands are dripping with sweat I have no issues holding onto the 1911. My hands in the same condition and I can barely hold on to my factory P226.

VZ they stick to your hand pretty good.

In reply to all who are suggesting VZ. They look pretty awesome. I'm definalty going to look hard at these. I know looking cool is always functional but the reviews on these are great and who doesn't like cool :). I do like the old style checkered look to....

Thanks B.H.

"The grip screws on the Norc will mount your new grips, too.

If you wanted to change them out for Allen heads, or stainless steel, you can. The threads are the correct Colt threads."

Thank for the info.
Cheers BH
